Today's Senior Pictures - Sarah's Magical Session

Think back to high school. Do you remember your senior pictures being taken at some dark studio out in West Broward? Go ahead...raise your hand...we were all there.

Do you remember the black cloth drape and the powder blue drape with the feather edging? Some of you might have picked the red feather one. (You know who you are.)

I remember. I even considered posting that blue feather number here to illustrate my point.

I was BLOWN AWAY recently when I received a Facebook message from an old high school friend. She wanted me to take HER daughter's high school senior pictures. (Process that for a minute.)

In today's creative and Pinterest inspired world, senior pictures have jumped out of the studio and taken the shape of editorial magazine spreads. They have become creative opportunities for the seniors to step out and away from those bygone days of cheesy drapes. Today's senior pictures can be whimsical or...something right out of a country music video.

I am SO fortunate to be a part of Sarah's dream of beautiful senior pictures. Truly, I'm the lucky one to have captured this stunning young woman at this very special time in her life.

Boys Will Be Boys - Urban Pre Teen Session

Go ahead...say it...They are some insanely handsome young men!

But, Logan and Wyatt are also seriously sweet and very funny young men. They have aspirations of acting and modeling. I have a sneaking suspicion they will do well, very well.

When Mom and Dad said they wanted some photos of their twin 10 year olds, my instincts said "Go Urban." While trying not get too dirty, we wandered around an nearby industrial area. Tires, loading docks and even struck gold with some vintage cars!! It suited the boys perfectly!

I'll be honest, I had a really hard time narrowing down my picks from this session. They were awesome to work with and gave me so many great images to choose from!

My absolute favorites are at the bottom of the post. These were the ones where they goofed a bit and their personalities really came through.

Quinceañera | Boca Raton

One word..it was a...BLAST!

Kaili's Quinceañera was a room full of her friends and family. Every smile and proud glance clearly showed how much she is loved.

Everyone danced, hugged and laughed all night. I was the lucky one to photograph this great event in a young woman's life.  And what an amazing young woman...so poised and fun! Her family was SO proud...such a warm and loving group of friends and family. I had the BEST time...and I didn't even dance! ;)

Pre Bat Mitzvah Converse Sneaker Photo Session | Boca Raton

What a great theme for a Bat Mitzvah Party - "Party Like An All-Star!"

These "Pre" Bat Mitzvah photos were to be used for display at the party and the slideshow. This young lady was soft spoken and SO sweet... and what a joy to be around!

We got that great "urban" feel as we wandered around a warehouse area. She was great climbing here and there. I love the ones of her pink converse in the bucket lift.

My thanks to the Fineman family for the honor of photographing their daughter for such a special occasion. (And a BIG thank you to her brother for hanging around and the great smiles that made his mom smile too! ;)

I did mention that her party was CONVERSE themed?! (You all know how much I love Converse ...cough...cough...Wonder Woman post here.)

"Today was a Fairytale" Senior Session | Boca Raton, FL

A different take on your Senior Year photos.

This little lot in the middle of Boca...who knew. Savannah looked like she had dropped into the middle of a Fairytale forest. AND THE LIGHT...that beautiful light. (And of course...the famous pink chair!!)

I really am in awe...Savannah beautiful grace and poise...I just can't say enough about this extraordinary young woman. Stunning and smart. These senior pictures were the perfect send off for someone graduating early and heading off to college.

"Urban" Senior Session - Savannah, Day 1

Savannah was such a great collaborative spirit during these photo sessions. We were looking at so many options that we ended up doing it over 2 different days in 2 different locations. One very "urban and grunge"...the other more "romantic and soft".

The images below are from the first session...urban and industrial. We had so much fun with accessories and layering...hats, scarfs and some of her own fun and funky jewelry.

All of these were done within a 5 block area in Deerfield Beach, but we got a fabulous variety of looks. Each theme capturing a different mood and part of her personality!

I'm lovin' the deer on the side of the building and the fantastic shadows against the concrete support...lighting magic!!!
