Birth Story, Boca Raton | Mary McGuire Photography

I've got myself a gaggle of girls...so I've been through labor. ;) And many of us have children...so we were there when they came into this world...either delivering or holding the screaming woman's hand. But, when you're INVITED to be at a birth...to be a part of SOMEONE ELSE's moment...it truly is such an amazing honor.

Jeanne and Jeremy welcomed me in to this awe-inspiring moment in their lives and asked that I document the birth of their daughter.

Even now...typing...I still struggling for the words to describe how special this was. So I'll do what I do best...let the pictures tell you.

(And for those photographers who worry about the lack of light in a hospital...I tell ya... embrace it! My favorite images were the ones in the dark...with just the monitor lights. Go watch...you'll see.)

Celebrating 40 Years of Love

Parties in general are fantastic fun...but this party had SO MUCH great energy!! The Patels were celebrating 40 years of marriage surrounded by loving friends and family. Food, dancing, speeches, Bollywood dancing, more food, dancing, cake, dancing...did I mention the dancing??

This family really rocks the dancing...and the food was a-maz-ing. I've had an Indian food craving following me for 2 weeks now. (I'm heading over to Punjab's in Boca next week without fail!)

Here's a slideshow to take you through the evening..you'll want to dance too!
(I love the munchkin at the end...all tuckered out!)            SLIDESHOW

Enjoy!

(And I can't say it enough...Robin, you rock! Thanks for being my second shooter and BB!)

New Day, New Year...New Life | Sunrise Wedding

Getting up early for your best friend is one thing. Getting up early New Year's Day for sunrise...well...that's when you really know who loves you! ;)

I knew the second Paula told me that she and Craig had decided on New Year's morning to get married, it was the perfect choice for starting their new life together.

They decided on a simple and intimate ceremony officiated by her dad. Surrounded by close family and their girls. I caught this shot of Paula's daughter Savannah looking on and I started to tear. When I turned the camera to Paula and she was tearing...that really tested my photographer skills. (I teared up too and shot with blurry eyes.)

Congratulations to Craig and Paula and the beginning of a wonderful life together!
Enjoy!

Holiday Portraits with Christmas Lights | South Florida Photographer

I was reminded back in May that I hadn't posted these holiday portraits from LAST YEAR. I know...I know...but, I couldn't very well post holiday portraits around Mother's Day. So, I was reminded again recently to get them up.

This was very last minute last year. One of my older girls asked if I could do a group portrait with her and her friends. Problem was they all worked crazy hours and the only time she could get everyone together was at 10:30PM!!

WHAT was I going to do with that??! Hmmm...

Holiday lights and a Ryobi power lamp. Wa-laaahhh! The very coolest holiday portrait EV-ER!

Better late than never.
Enjoy!

Cara & Tom - Right Place, Right Time

You all know I'm a big believer of being at the right place at the right time...

I was on a hot air balloon earlier this summer with my best friend for her birthday. A crew of us were put in this oversized basket floating above Orlando. We're enjoying the view and I'm taking a gazillion photos.

There was a couple in front of us and the guy leans back and is tapping me. I think, "OK, we're just bumping and it's accidental." He KEEPS doing it. I think "Yeesh."

THEN, I look down and see he is showing me a ring box!!! Oh, good night...he's trying to propose over Orlando. (I'm a dork.)

He handed me their video camera and I helped record the whole thing. Yep, she cried.

As soon as he was done, I started snapping unscripted photos. The video is what they are going to cherish forever. But, I was so fortunate to be there. I caught some moments.

Being at the right place at the right time.

Congratulations Cara & Tom!

Enjoy!

Dance Partners - Tango Photo Session

Our rainy season has hit with some serious frequency. So when Susan asked if I would like to photograph her and her tango dance partner, Konstantin, this week...my brain went to the Weather Channel. (Although....I'd love an opportunity to take crazy beautiful pictures in the rain. Hmmm...)

We got a fantastic break on the radar and I got to photograph two very talented dancers against an "old world" backdrop courtesy of Mizner Park. I loved the beautiful architectural lines combined with their incredibly graceful poses. Can't wait to see them perform!

Enjoy!

County Fair Couples Session | South Florida Photographer

Who doesn’t love The County Fair?!

It's the perfect backdrop for a fun couple. Ferris Wheels...Bumpers Cars...Midway Games...and let's not forget FUNNEL CAKES!!

Jackie and Howard are so natural together....I love how much in love they are. They wanted to do something fun to celebrate their recent one year “dating” anniversary. (I don’t want anyone to think they missed a wedding. ;)

Jorge & Ingrid, Couples Portrait

Just a moment...for a couple at the beach.

"Hey, would you mind taking our picture?"

My thanks to this wonderful couple, Jorge & Ingrid, for allowing me to "capture the moment" with these portraits of them.
